I enclose a separte report of the Plague Branch
which was opened on 2nd. May, and closed on 27th. June.
The Captain Supt.of Police appointed Chinese
Constables to superintend the transfer of Plague patients to
the Plague Hospitals.
Of the remaining 386 admissions,277 were treat-
ed by the Chinese doctors, 104 by Dr. Chung according to Western
principles, 4 were transferred to Govt. Civil Hospital, and 1 to
the Italian Convent.
58 dead bodies (36 male and 22 female) were
brought to the Hospital mortuary for interment.
All the six large wards on the ground level
have during the quarter been re-floored with wood.
A uniform has now been provided for the coolies.
I append a copy of minutes made in the Visit-
ors' Book during the past three months.
